Ceramic expertise from Quimper to Brest

Looking to offer an item for sale? Check out the Seiz Breur creations sought after by DIZAGN and our A dossier on the movement and its creators.

Do you own a Quimper ceramic that needs to be identified, valued or sold? In Brest, Thibault Lannuzel studies 20th century earthenware and stoneware art, HB–Odetta and Keraluc productions, as well as works by creators linked to the revival of Breton decorative arts.

The parts you're looking for

Vases, sculptures, dishes, shaped pieces, and lamp bases: DIZAGN is particularly interested in the works of Paul Fouillen, Pierre Toulhoat, Paul Yvain, Robert Micheau-Vernez, René Quillivic, Mathurin Méheut, Jean Lachaud, and Jim Sévellec. The ceramics of Gustave Tiffoche may also be submitted for study.

Read a brand in its context

A manufacturer's mark and an artist's signature do not always indicate the same role. Expert analysis examines the form, decoration, material, marks, and available references to distinguish between the manufacturer, the creator, and the decorator. A single inscription is insufficient to establish a date or attribution.

State and transformations

Report any chips, cracks, restorations, repairs, and missing parts. For a lamp, specify whether the wiring is old or recent: a vase converted into a lamp must be distinguished from a base originally designed for that purpose. These elements influence the analysis and evaluation of the piece.

How do I request a study?

Send an overview, several profiles, a clear photograph of the underside and any signatures, dimensions, and details of any defects. Include any information about the piece's provenance. DIZAGN will then specify the conditions for examination and may consider a purchase offer depending on its interest in the item.
