Selling a piece of furniture by Joseph Savina
Do you want to sell a piece of furniture by Joseph Savina, or verify a family attribution? DIZAGN, directed by Thibault Lannuzel in Brest, studies armchairs, chairs, tables, sideboards and furniture sets attributed to this cabinetmaker and sculptor associated with the Seiz Breur.
Have a chair or set examined
A chair, a wardrobe, or a dining room set must be studied as a whole: proportions, structure, joinery, wood species, decoration, and any markings. Furniture from Savina exhibits variations; the absence of a signature alone is insufficient to either rule out or confirm an attribution.
What factors into the estimation
The quality of the piece, its rarity, provenance, condition, and comparisons with documented examples all contribute to the valuation. Restorations, seat modifications, or replaced elements should be noted. No single price can represent all of Joseph Savina's furniture.
Offer your furniture to DIZAGN
Please provide front, back, side, and bottom views, along with dimensions and details of any decoration, joinery, or inscriptions. Specify if the piece belongs to a set and include, if available, an old invoice or family photographs. Also indicate the town where the piece is located.
Before a sale
Avoid stripping, sanding, or repainting the piece of furniture before examining it: its condition and finish are among the elements to be assessed. After analysis, DIZAGN may offer you a purchase if the piece matches their criteria. A formal attribution study or appraisal is subject to separate terms and conditions.
