For over eighteen years, Thibault Lannuzel has been passionately committed to promoting XX-century decorative Arts and post-war design through his work as a dealer, expert & art historian.

Alongside his university studies and an initial professional experience at Sotheby’s in Paris, he worked closely with Pascal Cuisinier for more than eight years, from the Paul Bert Market at the Saint-Ouen Flea Market to the gallery on rue de Seine in Paris.

Following a monographic study of the work of renowned French designer Olivier Mourgue, he naturally went on to pursue a doctoral thesis on French design at the Sorbonne and the Institut National d’Histoire de l’Art: Génération Formes Utiles: A Study of a Group of Designers in France, 1945–1973.

After completing his doctorate in 2017, and drawing on his extensive knowledge of both the market and the objects themselves, he joined the Compagnie des Experts Français en Antiquités (CEA) as an accredited expert. He now works in appraisal, scholarly publishing, exhibition curation and brokerage, specialising in twentieth-century decorative arts and historic French design.

In 2022, Thibault Lannuzel joined the 20th-Century Decorative Arts and Design department at the prestigious auction house Artcurial and launched his website, DIZAGN.FR, to showcase his selection of collectible French design pieces.

Based between Brest and Paris, he is developing a new field of research and expertise devoted to Breton furniture of the 1930s and the avant-garde Seiz Breur movement. His work focuses in particular on studying, documenting and bringing renewed attention to the creations of leading figures in this regional artistic revival, including Jeanne Malivel, Joseph Savina and Paul Fouillen.
