Bibliographies, archives, manufacturers’ catalogues, periodicals, auction records and institutional collections help substantiate an attribution and situate the work within the history of the model.
VALUE
Condition, rarity, provenance, market comparables and the quality of the example are analysed to provide a valuation suited to the purpose of the assignment.
SALE & INSURANCE
Valuation for sale, division of assets, inheritance or insurance; preparation of a documentary file; and advice on the most appropriate sales channel for the work.
Depending on the assignment and following sufficient examination of the object, DIZAGN may also issue a written opinion or certificate of authenticity.

Searching for a specific piece, carrying out pre-acquisition checks, building or developing a collection, or comparing several examples: expert advice may be provided both before and after purchase.

A DOCUMENTARY METHOD
DIZAGN’s expertise is based on the examination of works, comparison with documented models and research across available sources: specialist bibliographies, exhibition and manufacturers’ catalogues, archival collections, auction records and public collections.
This method distinguishes a simple formal resemblance from a fully substantiated attribution and, where sources allow, clarifies the chronology, manufacturer, variants and history of a model.
