Biography
A graduate of the École des Arts Décoratifs in 1949, André Monpoix (1925–1976) trained under René Gabriel, Maxime Old and Jacques Dumond. He opened his design studio in Paris in 1953 and developed modern furniture characterised by restrained, rigorous lines.
Meubles TV produced a large proportion of his designs until 1968. Winner of the Prix René Gabriel, Monpoix also worked on interior projects for the Louvre with Joseph-André Motte and Pierre Paulin.
