Background
In the early 1960s, Takis developed a body of work based on invisible forces: magnetism, electricity, light and energy. The Télésculptures, Télépeintures and Télélumières belong to this experimental research, which made him a major figure of the European post-war avant-garde. This lithograph translates into graphic language the fields, tensions and trajectories that structure his work.
Biography
Panayiotis Vassilakis, known as Takis, was a Greek artist born in Athens in 1925 and died in 2019. Based in Paris from the 1950s, he developed a practice at the intersection of art, science and technology. His research into magnetism, sound and light profoundly renewed sculpture in the second half of the 20th century.
