Biography
Trained at the École Camondo, Pierre Paulin (1927–2009) developed a sculptural approach to seating. His collaboration with Artifort in the 1960s produced several iconic models, including the Mushroom and Ribbon armchairs and the Tongue lounge chair.
He also contributed to major public commissions, notably the private apartments of President Georges Pompidou at the Élysée Palace in 1970 and the office of President François Mitterrand in 1983.
