Description
The floor lamp is based on a deliberately minimal construction: two tensioned vertical cables guide a movable reflector, allowing the position of the light to be adjusted. The black structure emphasises the graphic quality of the object.
Context
Dating from the late 1980s, this light illustrates a technical, postmodern approach to design in which the mechanism becomes an integral part of the aesthetic. The presence of the “Design 87 – Stuttgart” label is an important documentary element in identifying the model.
