Biography
Jean Gueillet was a French graphic designer and poster artist active mainly during the 1950s and 1960s. His work, from publishing to advertising and cultural posters, contributed to the renewal of post-war French graphic design. He notably designed a cover for Publimondial in 1956, a poster for the French National Lottery in 1957, and the Gauloises Disque Bleu campaign in 1960.

In 1963, Jean Gueillet designed the poster for the 43rd Salon des Artistes Décorateurs, held at the Grand Palais in Paris. Flat areas of pink and orange, geometry, photomontage and monumental typography mark a shift towards a graphic language informed by abstraction, collage and Pop culture.
