Background
Designed circa 1970 by Étienne-Henri Martin, the “Série 1500” lounge chair belongs to a modular programme developed with the support of the ARC at the Mobilier National and produced first by TFM, then by Mangau-Atal. Its tubular structure, concealed beneath the foam, creates a sculptural seat with no visible legs.

Biography
Trained in metalwork at the École Boulle, Étienne-Henri Martin worked with Edgar Brandt from 1923 to 1928 and exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs. A teacher at the École Camondo from 1945, he pursued a career as an interior decorator and furniture designer.
