Background
César-Deschenes’s photograph shows the “Washington” lamp frontally, designed in 1983 by Jean-Michel Wilmotte for the French Embassy in Washington and produced by Lumen Center Italia.
Biography
A graduate of the École Camondo, Jean-Michel Wilmotte is an architect, urban planner and designer. He founded his practice in 1975 and developed a multidisciplinary approach spanning architecture, interior architecture, museum design, urban planning and design; he has been a member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts since 2015.
