In 1980, he designed the interior of Bar Dúplex in Valencia with interior architect Fernando Salas. For this venue, Mariscal designed the Dúplex stool, whose three differently shaped and coloured legs directly express his graphic language rooted in drawing and comics. In 1981, BD Ediciones de Diseño began marketing the model, which remained in the catalogue until 2003. The stool became one of the emblematic works of 1980s Spanish design and helped establish Mariscal internationally.

Literature

Barcelona Design Museum, Dúplex stool entry Dúplex, 1981, inv.
