Biography

Dallux is a translucent decorative material developed in the early 1960s by the French company SINMA. Composed of molded polyester resin with a heavily striated or textured surface that diffuses light, it was presented at the 1962 Household Arts Exhibition. Serge Mouille became interested in this new material and designed several light fixtures for SINMA using Dallux panels. The range was distributed by SINMA, which later added its own models. In the absence of archival documentation specifically identifying the 120 cm DIZAGN wall lamp as a creation of Mouille, no individual attribution has been made for this piece.

Literature

Institutional reference

The Centre Pompidou holds a significant collection of works and studies by Serge Mouille in its Design department, but research conducted in online public collections has not identified this large 120 cm Dallux model. The DIZAGN record therefore retains a designation based on the material and the SINMA distribution, without attribution to Serge Mouille.
