Ivory-white lacquered metal, green-and-gold lacquered metal foliage, foam and original green vinyl. Dimensions: 103 \u00d7 68 \u00d7 74 cm; seat height 37 cm.<\/p>\n<h2>Background<\/h2>\n<p>Founded in Paris in the late 19th century, Maison Jansen became one of the great international interior decoration houses. From the 1920s to the 1950s, notably under St\u00e9phane Boudin, it developed a learned decorative language combining historical references, Art Deco and modernity. This pair of armchairs illustrates the house\u2019s taste for elegant structures and refined ornamental detail.<\/p>\n<h2>History of Maison Jansen<\/h2>\n<p>Maison Jansen was a Parisian interior decoration and furnishing house founded by Jean-Henri Jansen. Serving an international clientele, it worked on private residences, institutions and major interior projects. Its 20th-century designs are now sought after for their quality of execution and their ability to combine decorative tradition with modern
