Biography: <\/p>\n

He was born in Venice in 1935, where he obtained his degree in architecture. Together with his wife Afra Bianchin (1937-2011), he founded one of the most successful and well-known agencies, and they collaborated on numerous innovative industrial design projects. In 1958, he experimented with glass with Venini in Murano. His collaboration with Gavina began in 1960; the \u201cBastiano\u201d sofa and the \u201cVanessa\u201d metal bed are his most accomplished pieces.

\nFor Cassina, he designed exclusive furniture for the home, such as the \u201c925\u201d armchair, which became part of the collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. In 1970, he won the Compasso d'Oro award for the \u201cSoriana\u201d armchair, thus broadening the scope of interest in his work. He collaborated with various companies in the sector. For years, he was responsible for the image of Benetton stores in Europe and the United States. In the field of architecture, he designed Benetton's entire production and management complex, as well as the company's headquarters in Treviso. He has designed numerous private residences and overseen the restoration of historic monuments such as the Mercato Vecchio museums in Verona and the Gallerie dell'Accademia in Venice. He is responsible for setting up permanent and temporary exhibitions. He has received various awards, including the Compasso d'Oro for his career in 2008.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Numerous publications are devoted to his work and various projects are exhibited in major museums around the world, not to mention those selected for major international exhibitions. Construction work on the Ca' Scarpa museum in Treviso was recently completed. He is embarking on a new collaboration with Cassina in 2020.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
