Biography: <\/p>\n

Jean Allemand is a French painter, sculptor and designer born in Toulon on July 21, 1948. \nHe is known as co-founder of the Space group.
\nIl est connu comme cofondateur du groupe Space.<\/p>\n

Jean Allemand moved to Paris in 1967. After studying mathematics and working for IBM, he became interested in the representation of space. From 1970 onwards, he took part in various art fairs, and it was at the \u201cGrands et Jeunes d'aujourd'hui\u201d fair in 1972 that he met Maxime Defert and Michel Gu\u00e9ranger, who shared his interest in the representation of space.
\nAt the end of 1974, he co-founded Space with Maxime Defert and Michel Gu\u00e9ranger, whose style was then described as fantastic geometric abstraction.
\nAt the time, he was working with an A\u00e9rographe, which was new in the art world. <\/p>\n

His aim was to erase the brushstroke and give his creations a more photographic, geometric look.
\nAt the time, Jean Allemand confided that the space he sought to represent was more interior, and that his paintings were meditative.
\nFrom 1984 onwards, his interest in three-dimensionality led him to design furniture, followed by interiors from 1988 onwards.
